Collaborate with us

This page is a tribute to our community, partners and Canonical staff who have all given a piece of themselves to making this open source project thrive. Thank you to all of you.

Above all, it's a celebration of what Ubuntu has achieved so far, and an invitation to collaborate with us in delivering an even faster pace of innovation in the future.

Ubuntu Summit 25.10
October 23-24
Online

Want to make your mark on the Ubuntu Summit?

The Ubuntu Summit 25.10's call for remote lightning talks is open and we are looking for speakers who desire to share their bold vision of the future. Here are just a few themes that align with the Summit spirit:

  • Groundbreaking new projects.
  • Innovation in open ecosystems and communities.
  • Crossing the divide from proprietary to open source.

Online isn't the only way to take part. We're inviting local open source communities to host watch parties for the summit, known as “Ubuntu Summit Extended”.

Connect with fellow lovers of open source, tune into sessions together, and take part in real-time conversations.

Even more global,
for even more impact

This year, rather than a single event in a fixed location, we're shifting to an online experience. Our London hub will host the talks and demos, but our LoCos and open source communities will actively participate through local Ubuntu release and watch parties.

With this new approach, we're making the Summit available to a wider audience, and enabling our speakers to take their impact to the next level.

You're invited to contribute

Are you working on something amazing, or want to give back to the open source community? Then the Ubuntu Summit is the place to do it.

Past speakers have:

  • Transported us to Africa to see the impact of open source on schools, startups and communities.
  • Taught us how digital designers can break free from proprietary software.
  • Traversed a whole range of topics, from Rust and ARM64 to sustainability and the impact of open source on teenage lives.

If you're looking to organize a local meetup to celebrate the Ubuntu release and engage with the Summit remotely, share your ideas below: The Ubuntu team might be able to help you achieve your goals.
